Sunday 10/18/2009

Today I woke up and didn't feel like doing anything. Spent last night at Philly going to a concert, drinking beer and devouring two cheesesteaks. I didn't go crazy legs and dance the night away, so I shouldn't have been as tired as I was today. I decided that it would be a great day for Earth Treks. I was there on Thursday, and had noticed problems with my breathing. I decided to work on that. I warmed up, and focused on problems that I could do 100% of the time. I tried to focus on my breathing on these problems, and even struck up a conversation on a V4. I then decided to jump into the V6's on the wall. It was the slightly overhung wall in the horseshoe. I worked these, and was getting frustrated and getting shut down. I still wasn't breathing while climbing. I decided that I needed to refocus my energies and work on my breathing. I went into 4x4 projects. I wanted to get a up 5, down 2, up 5, down 1 project that I had been working on. I tried it a couple of times, alternating the climb that I started on. I must have tried about 5-6 times, and was getting severely pumped at the start of the second 5. I realized my problem wasn't in the going up, but I wasn't focusing enough on my feet while going down. When I finally looked at my down climb, everything started to work. I did my 4x4, and then stood on the ground exhausted. I then went back to the horseshoe wall, and attempted a 4,2,3+,1. It was a bit longer, and seemed much harder. I botched the sequence to start the 3+. I was feeling tired, and stopped doing the 4x4's. I cooled down with a mellow traverse upstairs. There was no pump gained, but I feel the traverse helped out a lot.

After this I went into the weight room for some power training. I lifted heavier weights, and averaged about 10 good reps for: bench on a swiss ball, lat pulls on a balance ball, skull crushers w/ bar on a swiss ball, bicep curls on a balance ball (I will need to change my grip/motion to avoid stagnancy in this lift), then closed my power workout with my shoulder injury prevention lift on a balance ball. I cooled down with cross body pulls at a very low weight. I should have mixed dips somewhere into my regiment, they can go at the beginning since I just got done working lats while climbing.

I then went to whole foods to find food to eat w/ my ground beef. I found a package of sloppy joe mix that looked wonderful. I also bought more mcintosh apples, asparagus, onions, mac & cheese, and dill sliced pickles.

My after work-out meal was two bowls of cinnamon toast crunch.

I wanted to get out of the house, so I decided to go to the mall and walk around. I took two laps there, stopping in and looking at shoe stores. I then went to Best Buy to find an attachment for my iPod Shuffle. They didn't have any. I will have to order it online.

I then went to the Avenue to check out the Verizon store to play with the HTC Ozone. I fist stopped at Barnes & Noble to see if any book tripped my trigger. There was nothing of interest there, so I left. I started walking down the avenue and decided to stop in at Red Brick Station to watch some football. I ended up drinking 3 beers. I just wanted 1, but once it hit my lips it was so good. I decided that I wouldn't go into the Verizon store with a slight buzz, and headed home to cook my gormet meal.

Ingredients to my sloppy joe stuffed pepper:
2 pickel stacker slices
couple slices of onion
3/4 diced tomato
1 lb ground beef
cheese
bell pepper
6 oz tomato paste
cheese on top

Delicious!

Hopefully today I can get out for a run at work, buy a heart rate monitor at the bike shop and lift legs at Ballys. I may try doing barbell lunges instead of squats, take a few weeks off and hopefully build back up to a strong lower body for snowboard season. Still haven't decided on season passes yet, but I still have till Halloween.
